How can you make a difference?
As an integrative practitioner I work with people to break the cycle of internal chaos in their lives using a variety of tools, each with it's own merits and discipline, yet they all interweave beautifully. The client and I create a plan that is individual and unique to them and their issue(s).

Is it really possible to help people improve emotional resilience?
Absolutely! We can all learn to manage our emotions. Being able to manage our emotions gives us greater opportunity to experience life in a more peaceful, fulfilling way, which in turn, can increase happiness.
It's important to understand that:
1. Emotions drive behavior: Our feelings greatly impact our actions and decisions. By understanding and managing their emotions, clients can make more conscious choices that are aligned with their goals.
2. Emotions impact goal achievement: Feelings of fear, frustration, anxiety and overwhelm to name a few can hinder progress. Helping clients identify and understand their emotional obstacles and develop greater emotional resilience is what Free to Bee® is all about.
3. Emotions influence self-belief: Negative emotions can lead to self-doubt and seriously affect motivation. Stronger emotional resilience makes cultivating positive self-talk so much easier, which inturn makes it easier to believe in ourselves..
At Free to Bee® our specialty is emotions. Our approach can incorporate techniques like:
Life Coaching to examine a specific challenge in life a person may be having and how their emotions are feeding or limiting their ability to overcome that that challenge.
The Tomatis® Method which has a direct affect on the amygdala and the emotional centre of the brain.
Hypnotherapy to enter the subconscious world or the unconscious programming the person is dealing with to update it with beliefs that are resourceful.
Energy healing in the form of Emotion Code®, Body Code® and Belief Code® which release negative energy from thoughts, beliefs and emotions from the body's energy field. for increasing a person's emotional resilience to improve a person's sense of well-being.
Our range of modalities allows us to offer a uniquely comprehensive approach in aiming to increase a client's emotional resilience.
Why do people react instead of respond?
Sometimes through no fault of our own our brains work against us when it comes to emotional resilience!
For many people when faced with difficulties such as challenges or obstacles on the way to achieving goals, the emotional centre of the brain takes over, sending off alarms that trigger strong feelings. This can be helpful in the short term, but if we lack the ability to recognise, understand and process our emotions, the more logical prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for planning and problem-solving can be affected. It's like the emotional centre is shouting so loud that the logical part can't get a word in edgewise! This is the difference between a reaction and a response!
Lowered emotional resilience can lead to developing and/or triggering self limiting beliefs, negative self-talk, rumination or worrying on problems and difficulty bouncing back. Emotional resilience helps us calm the emotional centre and re-engage the logic centre, allowing us to process emotions rationally and navigate challenges with a much clearer mind.
What happens in the first session?
In our first session, we'll work together to:
1. Give you an opportunity to teach me more about the issue and how it affects you
2. Make a flexible plan that works for you aiming to reach a point of peace in regard to the issue. The plan needs to meet your level of commitment to change, availability, beliefs and budget.
3. Begin working towards improving your emotional resilience to empower you to embrace peace and happiness.
Why do you think the tools you use help people?
I have used all of the tools I now use in my professional practice. In fact I use them in my private life as well. I have faith in the methods I use as I have seen changes I never thought possible within myself and my family and friends and now clients.
I have turned my life around from a position of victimhood to a place of peace and acceptance of what was. I no longer suffer from regular feelings of anxiety, an irritable bowel, travel sickness (an unexpected bonus), anger as my default setting, poor emotional resilience, overthinking, inner turmoil, worrying what others think, fear of rejection, inability to finish what I start and low motivation.
My life now is so different, thinking back it is hard to believe how much I was a prisoner to my emotions. I lived a life of regret and shame caused by emotional reactions that I couldn't stop from happening, I thought I would be like that forever. Now, I am able to manage my emotions which has opened me up to deeper connections with my family and friends, increased my patience and perseverance and motivation and thankfully I feel like I've stopped feeding the negative and can honestly say I feel lighter, calmer, more peaceful and am infinitely happier than I was.
What if I don't believe in or want some of the modalities you offer?
That is absolutely fine. I am not here to force people into anything they are not happy to try or invest their effort into. People have their own reasons for skepticism about different things including me!
If one or some of the modalities I use are not within their level of acceptance that is just fine, there are an enormous number of practitioners offering all sorts of modalities available, who may be able to assist them in a way that is acceptable to them.
If none are acceptable perhaps it's just not the right time for them to be working on increasing their emotional resilience for improved peace and happiness.
Do you work with children?
Yes, I do require that a parent or other adult the child trusts be present at the appointment. I have a long history of working with children from my previous career as a Dental Therapist.
Children generally respond very well to the methods I use in my practice as they are very much driven by curiosity and children are generally naturally curious.
Regardless of who I am working with there is never blame applied to anyone in that person's life, it all just is and we move forward from there.
How much does it cost?
Costs vary depending on the modality or tool a person wishes to engage in. A person's budget is taken into account when planning as I do not believe there is any point creating financial stress when trying to support a person to increase emotional resilience and find peace and happiness.
For this reason I don't prescribe a number of sessions, rather I leave it to the client to decide what suits their life and budget.
Often motivation to achieve a specific goal will dictate the frequency of sessions which of course dictates cost.
Do I join online or in person?
I offer both online, telephone and in-person sessions.
Clients choose the option that best suits your needs and preferences. Online sessions are conducted via secure video conferencing software (Google Meet) and offer the convenience of meeting from anywhere with an internet connection.
In-person sessions take place at my office in Hamilton and provide a more personal touch.
I really enjoy working with people online and by phone. For some people it seems to give them enough distance and privacy to really dig deep in terms of identifying what is holding them back from overcoming challenges and obstacles in achieving their goals.
It is not always possible for people to work with me in person so online or phone work is a great way of moving past the challenge of physical location.
